Our Story

The first MERÏKH Multifunctional bag was created by designer Hannele Merik in 2008. The idea was born on walks with her miniature pinscher, Lowo. She needed an elegant small bag for her own and her dog’s essentials, one that could be attached to the leash, a belt or a bike, so she could enjoy walks, activities and travels with her hands free.

People kept asking where they could buy the bag, and Hannele realized there was nothing like it on the market. In 2009, the first trial production was made and the design was registered for protection. In 2013, the complete MERÏKH collection and the Multifunctional concept were launched.

MERÏKH is more than bags. It is a concept built on multi-functionality, with inspiration gathered from travels around the world. One concept, many ways to carry.
